Happy Father’s day!!

21 06 2009

Ok well seeing as it is Father’s Day there is no card to show today, BUT I did want to come on here and with My dad a Happy 30th Father’s day and My Hubby a Happy 1st Father’s day!

Taryn and I took Rob and a few of his friends fishing today! Boy do I wish we had of planned this trip for yesterday! we got up early this morning, packed up the truck, and headed up to Jones Lake. We were told to count on a 10% chance of rain… well let me tell you we got that 10% and a whole lot more!! it rained the entire day! When Taryn and I napped in the back of the Tahoe (hey she needed to nap, and I needed to make sure she was ok back there) the boys worked on building a fire, no one thought to bring an axe so it took them a while to get it going. A few hours later when Taryn and I woke up the boys were about ready to off load the boat and head out to do some fishing! (boy do I wish they had gotten that started when we were sleeping, because when you have a 7 month old baby and a small picnic tart that leaks, it is VERY hard to keep everyone happy. After Taryn had a quick bite to eat, we bundled up, strapped Taryn into the Snuggli, and went for a walk. We discovered a number of awesome camping spots, and walked along the dam. Taryn was a bit tired, and fell asleep on our walk, it always surprises me how babies can sleep any time any where. we got back and Taryn slept some more before we ate again!! Before we knew it the boys were back and wee were cooking hot dogs and packing to come home. Because no one expected it to rain the boys did not bring their rain gear so needless to say when they came back in from being on the boat they were all cold and wet. We packed up quickly and headed home! We got home shortly after 8 and put Taryn to bed! I hope Daddy had a good first Father’s day, I know Taryn enjoyed it!

Father’s Day Card

11 06 2009

Hey, I’m back again with another card…

she;llie3This card is part of my collection of Father’s Day cards that I have for sale… It has been so much fun designing cards for this special day!  I used Basic Grey patterned paper, as well as SU! cardstock and stamp.  I coloured the truck in with SU! markers.  The rectandles are cut out using the Nestability Deckled Rectangles by Spellbinders which I bought at Scrap ‘n Stamp. Lastly I used the Spellbinders foil behind the truck to give that chrome look.

I like the way this turned out so much that this may even be the card that Taryn gives her Daddy for his first Father’s day! (It helps that he is a big ‘car guy’)

Well until next time, Happy Crafting,
